Welcome to the 31st century, where mankind have colonized the known space beyond Terra. The Inner Sphere has been wreaked by war since the fall of the Star League, in which men and women used weapons and machines of destruction against one another.
Since the start of the Star League, scientific research have been geared to improving weapons and war machines such as the battlemech, a Commando as shown on the left. These research helped improve the things which civilians used.

The development of advanced radar, dropships and jumpships enabled travel from planet to planet. As a result, interplanetary trade and transport were possible.
The radar allowed for dropships to move safely to and from the planets and were also able to land safely on drop zones build in the planet.
Portable computers, known as notepads are also popular with businessmen who travel a lot.
